Class V1 - Mule Jump

Mule Jump will be on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 12:00 pm

in front of the grandstand, free admission

Entry fee $10.00

    Entries start at 11:00 am in front of the grandstand..

Premiums:  1st - $ 100; 2nd - $75; 3rd - $50; 4th - $25

Amount offered:  $750

2413 - Under 47"

2414 - Over 47", up to 52"

2415 - Over 52"

Initial Jump:  Size of the initial jump will be determined by the chest size of the smallest mule in the class.  Initial jump must be cleared to qualify for placing.

Jump:  After entering the marked box area, mule must stop before jumping.

Timing:  Timing begins when the first hoof touches the ground inside the box.

Attempts:  Two attempts may be made at each height and each attempt is timed at 60 seconds, maximum.  An attempt will be considered:

    1.  If animal steps out of box

    2.  If mule breaks a pin or pins

    3. If mule misses or pushes the bar off of standard.

Handler:  Handlers may stand to either side of box, must hold reins or lead rope at all times. Failure to do so is a disqualification.  

Abuse:  No physical abuse or force of the mule will be allowed.

Ties:   Should two or more mules tie for the height, the animal which clears the jump in one attempt will be the winner regardless of time.  If both mules clear the jump in one attempt. (first/second) the animal with the shortest time will be the winner.  If non of the mules have jumped a particular height, then the jump will be lowered until one or more jumps.

Champion mule will be selected as Best in Stranding of total events.  Trophy blanket to be awarded.  Trophy blanket awarded for best jump.
